Ok, here it is!! Her FIRST recital!! yay!!! Look at how precious these girls are...... :-) She has been going to gymnastics and dance for 9 weeks now and they had a small Holiday Program last night. My goodness was she excited, I can't wait to see how she will be for the production in June when she wears a full blown costume and performs. I was so proud of her, from a shy little girl to performing in a room full of at least 200, wow, she surely shines.

I know, I know, I have barely been on here...sorry about that. :-) I have been getting ready for the holidays and doing minimal sewing lately. However, I did just get the newest line of fabric...

and OMG, can you say GORGEOUS!! This fabric is by Patty Young and she calls this Andalucia. I have known Patty for a few years and it has been amazing watching her go from clothing design to fabric design with her own line of greeting cards!! My sneak peek of the fabric was a single charm pack and some ribbon. Here's what I did with it ;-)

and then at the door was this box, at the sight of it I was already drooling. I KNEW what was in this box..hehe So I made a little cover to match the bag. I got away from the clothing for a little bit, I guess I needed a break. I enjoyed making something different that took alot less time but to tell you the truth? I now miss the clothes, the ruffles, the appliques...so yep, I will be going back to what I love best. :-) Here are a few bags I made on my little side step...

Well it was a big day in the life of Raina yesterday. GYMNASTICS AND DANCE!! Oh my gosh was she excited. I didn't think we would make the entire 7 days from the point I "told" her she was going until the actual day...
Now most of my experience comes from being a sofball mom and a baseball mom, so this aspect is totally new for me as well. It almost seemed like I was the one going? haha
However, the dance and gym studio was VERY clear about parent spectating. The picture that you see here? I had to sneak up to the door and peek around the corner with my camera...yes it was SOOO obvious to the other moms it was our first time..but how could I not get a photo? It just was unthinkable not to have something? right? A friend of mine was concerned by this "rule" however, their explanation was that if moms and dads were to be watching, the kids would be distracted by thoughts of being seen for each and every attempt. Not like we havent heard the "mom WATCH"...so yes, I totally understood and was relieved that there are two weeks during the nine week sessions that allow us to "spectate" hehe AND a gymnastics program along with the dance recital in June!! yay!! so i will be posting some much clearer photos in just a few weeks. :-)
(now because I am not familiar with the moms and dads, i have spotted out the other kiddies faces...no sharing without permission!! :-)

HERE is my baby....she LOVES softball and has played since she could lift a bat. :-) I could'nt be more proud than I am of this young lady. She is on this travel team(if you click the team pic) that is amazing! My summers have been full of running across the country watching her and let me tell you, I would have it NO other way. Kalynn is now 16(yep, just got her driver license..ugh!) and has been the starting catcher for her high school Varsity softball team both freshman and sophmore years. Not only has she excelled in sports, but her grades always keep her on the honor roll. She works a part-time job AND helps with her siblings...She is my inspiration

She is the in the second row, furthest to the left of your screen.. :-) Isnt she gorgeous!!! :-)

I also have a sample listed and will probably be taking a break here pretty soon, our annual vacation is coming up and try to pack 2 kids(the oldest is going to a softball tourney) 2 adults for camping for 10 days AND sew? nahh, I dont think I can even pull that off! :-)

I just HAD to share these new photos....this is a set that didnt begin as a "set".... The winner of my last contest won a custom spring top with matching clippies, and after receiving her top, asked for a pair of capris. Well, this is the final outfit. How stinkin cute did this turn out to be!!! Thanks so much to customer that sent these photos, your little one is absolutely adorable! :-)

Well we are leaving for our first trip of the spring/summer soon. I have been working on a new project that has kept me from any new designs. I have been making pillows...yep, you heard that right...pillows. These arent just "any" pillows, these are Native American Star Pillows. Let me say now, these are so much more difficult than they look!! I am supposed to make 10 of these babies...here is my progress so far.......

Well, a while back we won an auction for an entire collection from Giggle Girls now known as Lucky*K and let me tell you, this is the cutest set!! here is a little peek at one of the sets. The last time I went out for a quick photo shoot with Raina, I made my son tag along. Little did he know I was going to make him pose for the camera too! ;-) I realized that I had NO recent photos of my young man, so here is the result of mom begggiinnnggg him to take pics. To top it off? he had to friends show up, that ended our "humoring mom session" :-)

I have also been working on this princess set...it has six petal panels with an embroidered design on each panel. So far it is wayyy cute, not my normal style but I have been wanting to try a few new things.

It was time to think about Rainas Birthday and what we would do this year. The very first thing? an outfit of course!! :-)

Well, for a very long time I have wanted one of those asymmetrical skirts by hollysmama We decided to pair up and just look what we came up with!!!

I made the euro style hoodie with a cupcake pocket and candles to show she is turning 4 and Beth made the applique top and skirt, also with a cupcake and candles! These ended up matching as if we were designing side by side! Raina absolutely loves this set and I got the seal of approval with a huge hug and a "thank you so much mommy!!!" gotta love it!

It was Christmas Eve and everyone was finally sleeping. :-) Here is the site before I slipped upstairs to bed.

I absolutely love christmas morning...the excitement and awe in the little ones faces. Raina was standing there rubbing her eyes, and said matter of factly "I knew it!! I knew it!!" and yes she had said Santa told her he was bringing a dollhouse. The Jeep was a huge hit too..normally we do not have too huge gifts laid out from Santa but this year Grandma decided to spoil her a little and sent the dollhouse, and i thought it would have a much bigger impact put together than wrapped in a box that didnt even sport a colored photo. :-) I was right... ;-)

The biggger kids were pretty happy too, a check payable to her, Kalynn was thrilled with the cash gift along with her camcorder. Nicholas had sold his PS2 system and games to save up for a PS3, however, we surprised him too....it was a great christmas this year. We have been blessed....many thanks for all of these blessings.

We made it to see Santa!! and we took Hailey and Lucas with us! Raina is still unsure how to react to him, and chose not to sit on his lap, but she was excited he was there and told him, "i told you about that dollhouse, remember?" and Santa replied "how could i forget" (with a glance toward me and a smile back)"You have been such a good girl and I will definitely see about bringing that dollhouse." I am so excited about Christmas!! I think its more for me than it is her sometimes! :-)

Today is our visit with Santa!! Raina is running around house all pumped up with sugar. Why did we bake dozens of cookies again? oh ya.....Santa!! haha

We are making the trip to the local mall for a quick visit with Santa even though Raina has already informed me that Santa visited her in her dreams and told her she was getting a BIG dollhouse!! hmmmm, how in the world did this child know what was in that big brown box coming from Grandma?? Santa did not let her down this year for sure!

I will post Santa pics soon...I was going to have her wear this new dress I made, but have you ever lost ONE shoe? hmmmm i guess the dog ate it. ;-)

Being the mother of two teenagers, I have seen my share of Christmas Programs, Grandparents day programs, cheerleading competitions, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and my all time favorite so far, softball! I never ever EVER get tired of sitting in the audience or the stands and watching my children shine. :-) Well, its Rainas turn!!! yay!!! Raina will be performing in her first Christmas program this afternoon.

I am giddy like a child, made sure her outfit(yep mommy made it) is out and pressed, with matching accessories. Have a bath ready and I am going to wake her up soon so we can get ready for her BIG day!! I caught her dancing and singing Jingle Bells and Santa is Coming to Town a few times, I think these may be in the program. ;-)I will be sure to share some photos...

There are only 9 days left !! I am so excited about Christmas, it is my most favorite time of the year.... Lets see, what have we done so far..

I love to wrap gifts, there are so many endless possibilities!!

Baking is always a GREAT way to excuse the loud Christmas music and the dancing around the kitchen.

Here is a little recipe for you to give to friends, so they can enjoy their own little baking time!!

COOKIES IN A JAR
INGREDIENTS
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup orange flavored dried cranberries
1 cup vanilla or white chips
ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS
In a 1-qt. glass jar, layer the sugar and brown sugar, packing well between each layer. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; spoon into jar. Top with oats, cranberries and chips. Cover and store in a cool dry place for up to 6 months.
To prepare cookies: Pour cookie mix into a large mixing bowl; stir to combine. Beat in butter, egg and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Drop by the tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes or until browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
